Stamp design for an RSA brief. The concept was to create a series of stamps highlighting british inventions through use of imagery/typography. In this case I decided to base the concept around vehicles/steam engine inventions.

Oh man, I would actually pay for these as giant prints. The detailing for a stamp is fantastic. Such simple shapes, but wonderfully modern colours, sharp lines, with the ascending and descending lines it almost looks like each one is a schematic.

These stamps look amazing. However it seems the designs are far too detailed for stamps. It looks good at this size but obviously this is not the proper size of a stamp, or weren't these actually printed?

I love how all the designs are very simple, solid-color lines and shapes. Gives all the stamps a great continuity, especially combined with the fact that they all use the same simple color scheme (the colors all work well together, too).

Really cool designs with well thought out composition, colour and typography. The profile of the queen is facing the wrong direction, however. On stamps she always faces to the left, on coins she faces to the right... (I'm just being pedantic)

Hey there. This was a live brief set for the RSA which had a variance of different positions I could place the queens head and '1st' class icon. [link] is the pdf they gave us. I think because it was such an open brief they allowed us the freedom to switch it up a little?
